Unable to update iOS

I have an iPhone 6s with iOS 12.3.1

I'm trying to update the iOS because lots of the apps I need require iOS 13 or above.

The only option on Software Update is iOS 15.7.3. I downloaded it last week and when I tried installing it, there was a window saying "Verifying update..." and then an error message saying I was not connected to the internet, which I definitely was.

I tried again today, downloaded it fine. Click on 'Install Now' followed by a window saying "Verifying update..." and then an error message saying "Unable to Install Update - An error occurred installing (null)." The 'Retry' option does not work, so I click 'Remind Me Later', and then nothing happens later. I've tried multiple times and always the same message. What to do?

You cannot pick and choose an iOS version. What you get is Settings > General > Software update > [All options are available here]

You need to correctly Identify your iPhone model - Apple Support
