I have scoured through the settings, but whenever I get a text message/iMessage, I don't get notified on my phone. While I appreciate the notifications on the watch, I ALWAYS want notifications on my iPhone.
The notifications work fine when the watch is charging.
Suggestions?

I’ll try to clarify. It is working as designed. When you are wearing your watch all notifications go to the watch. The only exception is actual phone calls, which will ring on both.
That’s how it’s designed to work.
You can not have notifications sound on both simultaneously.
