Mismatched AirPods Pro 2 replacement case

I just replaced my AirPods Pro 2 charging case since I lost my old one, but I keep getting the mismatch message and that the AirPods aren’t mine. I tried everything and even apple support can’t help me since the problem is with the case and not my AirPods. My AirPods barely/won’t charge and it keeps disconnecting. But there is apparently no warranty so I can’t even get a new one send to me without paying AGAIN. Mind you, I bought the case from apple support themselves online yesterday and it just arrived today. They told me to go to a physical store and maybe there will be some costs for that… How do I solve this? Cant I just return it and at least get my money back?

Hey there Trararamy,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

We understand the concern; however, for the best information and steps that can help with this issue, check out this link here: If you see an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch" - Apple Support

If you see an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch," then you might have mixed up your AirPods with someone else's AirPods. You can try to get your AirPod back from the person who might have it. Or you can contact Apple Support to replace your AirPod.

Try to get your AirPod back
If your AirPods are mixed up with someone else's AirPods, you'll both get an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch." Use the Find My app to locate your missing AirPods and play a sound to help you identify which AirPod is mismatched.

Replace your missing AirPod
If you can't find your AirPod, you can get a replacement AirPod from Apple Support. Just find the serial number of your AirPods, then contact Apple Support.

If you've confirmed that the AirPods are not mixed up with someone else's, then the next best option would be to continue working with Apple Support at this link here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Best regards.
