Uninstall McAfee by following the developer's instructions. There is no need for running anti-virus software on a Mac. This also applies to cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software.
If the notifications interfere with uninstalling McAfee, then try booting into Safe Mode in order to uninstall it.
