Eastern Arabic Numerals vs regular Arabic Numerals

I frequently use Arabic on my Mac, and everything works fine, for the most part. However, one really annoying feature is that the Mac uses Eastern Arabic Numerals (١, ٢, ٣, etc.) when I switch to the Arabic language. However, I would like to use regular Arabic Numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) when typing in Arabic. I have not found any settings to do this...does anybody know how to change this?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.2

If you are using the Arabic Qwerty layout, just hit Caps Lock.

If you are using the Arabic or Arabic PC layout, just hit Caps Lock or go to system settings > keyboard > input sources and switch to the input source called Arabic - 123.

If you are using the Arabic Azerty layout, hit Shift or Caps Lock.

Hello miss3nood,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're unable to find a way to make your language settings match in terms of numbers on your Mac.

We do have a user guide which may provide some clarity. That can be found here: Change the language your Mac uses - Apple Support

Ultimately, if you're not able to find the correct numbers in your language preferences, this may need to be a feedback/feature request. To formally submit that, please follow: Feedback - macOS - Apple

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
