catalina will not allow internet connection

My computer is running Catalina 10.15.7 and has never been updated. It will no longer go on the internet via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable. How do I download the needed updates without access to the internet?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Ah gotcha. Yeah, you can download macOS and pop it onto a USB stick. Here is Apple’s doc on it. There are some other tutorials online showing how to do the process like this one.

Hi TesolAmazing,

I’m not sure if you can download updates on another computer and transfer them with a USB. You can create USB boot discs if you wanted to upgrade the OS.

I am interested in the mac not connecting to the internet. I wasn’t sure from your post if you can’t access the intervener either by choice or a fault.

It appears that Catalina has this problem and I didn't keep it updated to fix it so now the OS will not allow internet access even though I have tried a good Wi-Fi and an ethernet cable. Can you download a new OS onto a USB and then upload into a computer?
