mail going to junk when it shouldn't

I bcc myself on sent mail so I have a record that it got sent. I set up some rules to send things to junk mail but it is now getting my bcc messages and all the messages from my wife in addition to stuff that really is junk. I have set exemptions for senders in my contact list but they still go to junk. How do I get the junk to the junk folder without getting the good stuff sent there too?

OK, got it. In the customized view I had it set to icon only. Changed it to icon and text. The button was there all the time but I didn't recognize it. Now it's labelled so my aging mind can see what it really is.

Thanks.

Have you tried selecting your wife's emails in the Junk mailbox and clicking on the Not Junk button?

What I do is create a rule to move emails to appropriate mailboxes on my Mac. Then I have a Smart Mailbox that is "Mail is Unread". I access the emails from that smart mailbox and after reading I either delete them or leave them be (which is in the On My Mac mailbox.

Just some food for thought.

Still don't see the 'not junk' button. There is a button to 'move to inbox' but that only acts on that one email. I want something that permanently avoids sending my email bcc returns to the junk folder. The real problem is not my bcc returns, it's other emails that shouldn't go to junk. I can remember that I sent an email and I should check the junk folder (although it's an annoyance). But I don't know when someone else sends me an email that went to junk.

So the 'not junk' button works to the extent that it takes the email out of the junk box and places it in the inbox. HOWEVER it does NOT change the fact that the next email will go to the junk box. I was really looking for a more permanent solution and not something that takes constant checking of the junk box.

Any further suggestions welcome.
