Facetime not working on MacBook

FaceTime quit working on my MacBook. Any known Issues?

If there's a sign in issue, be sure to also check out the steps here: If you can't sign in to your iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac


You can also test using FaceTime when booted to safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac


If the issue continues, as you mentioned you can reach out to Apple Support to further assist.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities!


There doesn't look to be a current outage with FaceTime on the system status page: System Status


If you're having trouble with FaceTime, the article listed up above has some great steps that can help with that.


If those don't seem to improve things at all, please provide some details of what exactly you're experiencing.


Those details will help determine what options you have.

Thank you for your help. The issue is not availability although I did get an error when FT unexpectedly quit. It happens when calling out and receiving a call. FT won't connect. I have to use my phone. I tried using my camera and it's fine. I'm directly connected to the Ethernet port. I've restarted the MacBook. I can't delete the FT app. I may have to call Apple support.
