Removing HomePod

I forgot to remove my HomePod before selling it. What can I do now so the new owner can take ownership?

The new owner can just factory reset it. There’s no activation lock preventing them from using it. Send the new owner this link and tell them to use the “pressing the top” method, then they will have to set it up with their Apple ID: Reset HomePod or HomePod mini - Apple Support

if you’re still seeing in in the home app, you can sign out of it under primary user. Scroll down to see if the option to remove it is still there. If not check in settings on your iPhone - your name, scroll down to the HomePod , if there and tap on > remove.
