Apple Carplay Playing Audio From Different Applications

My wife recently got a new 2023 Honda Pilot and has connected her phone to the wireless Apple Carplay, which is great, but we have recently been having issues with the Carplay audio.

When I'm driving the car and she is on her phone in the passenger seat, whenever she opens up Facebook or Instagram, Carplay tries to play the audio from Facebook/Instagram though Carplay and it turns off the FM radio or Spotify we are listening to and Carplay tries to use Bluetooth to play the Facebook/Instagram video audio through the car. The audio will not switch back to the radio/Spotify unless you actually click the button on the dash/headunit.

It is very annoying. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've searched online and cannot really find a solution. I don't understand why the Carplay would be trying to steam the Facebook/Instagram audio when they aren't even Carplay supported applications.
