Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We see you were linked from the article "If Touch ID isn't working on your Mac". Were you able to try all those steps? If so, let's confirm the steps that can also help:
- Check compatibility with the Mac computer. (Mac computer with Apple silicon and macOS Big Sur 11.4 or later.)
- Make sure you have the latest version of macOS Big Sur or later.
- Turn Magic Keyboard off then on.
- Connect Magic Keyboard to the computer with the included USB-C to Lightning Cable.
- Remove all enrolled fingerprints, then try adding a fingerprint again.
- Turn Bluetooth off then on.
- Restart the computer.
- If you turn Magic Keyboard off then on, Touch ID may be unavailable for up to 10 seconds.
