how can i stop a spinning wheel on my Mac computer?

My Mac computer has a spinning wheel on Safari that i can not stop can you help stop it?MY computer is a Mac book pro from 2015

When you click on Force Quit in the Apple menu, are there any Apps in red. If there are apps that are stuck, I would quit them. It is likely the data created using that program will be lost.


Does it happen only in Safari?


You can also check Activity Monitor to see if there is anything running out of control in the CPU%. Just hit the search icon in the menu bar and start typing "Activity" to bring it up quickly.
