Hi, if I sign up for 3 months free on my new iPad how do I watch free Apple TV via my Apple TV device that links to my tv?

The Apple TV+ subscription will be linked to your Apple ID account as used to set up the new iPad. That subscription is then valid for any of your devices that has the Apple TV app, and where you sign in with that Apple ID account.
If your Apple TV box model is 3rd generation (2012) or later, then you’ll be able to watch Apple TV+ through that.
