How can you print directly from the screenshot app?

When I take a screenshot (COMMAND+SHIFT + 3, 4, or 5) and click on the little thumbnail in the corner to edit the picture, is there a way to just send it to the printer?

One article I found online claims that I can print from the screenshot app itself using the menu (I don't see any menu bar) or COMMAND P (does not work for me), so that was not helpful.

I also tried the little button that normally sends your stuff to various places, like messages, notes, etc. Sending it to a printer is not a listed option and I could not find it under "more..." either.

The only thing I have found is saving it as a file, then opening it with Preview and then printing it. (Also I have not found a way of copying the picture to the clipboard, except retaking the screenshot with a new setting to send it to the clipboard, but that's secondary to my issue)

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this normal? If normal, can someone recommend a more useful app for screenshots?

Thanks!

It's normal, although if you really wanted to get creative it is possible to create an Automator workflow or Shortcut to 1. take a screenshot 2. open it in Preview, 3. open the Print dialog and 4. print it.

Seems more trouble than it's worth, but if you are bound and determined to do something like that I'd encourage you to post a brand new question in the Mac OS X Technologies Community.
