Malware on iPhone...

Our bank has shut down access on our account, until our phones have been professionally cleaned, due to some problem with malware on our phones.

My iPhone is supposed to be cleaned by Apple Support professionally, and once cleaned, then the bank will get a code to say it has been cleaned. Is this a normal request, and does it happen?

That’s bunk. If the phone isn’t jailbroken, it’s not possible for it to get “malware”. Either this is a scam, or you need to pull your money out of that bank and switch to one that isn’t run by idiots.

That‘s adorable!

Apple Support does not offer a cleaning service. Not short of a reset and re-install.

If you have an add-on first-few-hops VPN client app, I’d remove that. And I’d discourage jailbreaking.

If this is real, I’d find a different bank, as yours is seemingly not conversant in modern computer security.

But I’d suspect this is a phishing scam, however.
