Your iPhone was not hacked, there is no malware on your iPhone, and banks are typically following a script here and various of them are not necessarily even a good source of security advice around iPhone and information security.
The tooling required to compromise an iPhone is exceedingly expensive, and very much targeted, based on available reports.
Just getting banking and payment information out of iPhone Wallet app is difficult at best, even given the iPhone passcode, too.
Usual cause of these sorts of problems are checks and check fraud, phishing and spear-phishing, failure to use robust and unique passwords across all sites and services, failure to have two-factor authentication enabled, and related account-compromise considerations. Passkeys would also help avoid phishing, if your bank supports those. (I would hope your bank suggested using their passkey support, in their security suggestions.)
A device-level hack or malware is exceedingly unlikely.
