My AirPod is showing not covered

I tried to use my AirPods but couldn’t and it is saying AirPod not covered. I have bought it from an apple retailer in Lisbon in 2021 and I was not informed about this coverage thing. I thought I have the right to use an AirPod that I bought for around 100€. Can you please help me fix this. Thanks in advance

"Coverage" as used by Apple often refers to cover under time limited Warranty or AppleCare+. AirPods purchased in 2021 would have a standard 12 month warranty which would be expired sometime in 2022, unless you purchased the optional AppleCare+ extended cover. Having a current warranty (or not) does not change your rights and ability to use your AirPods.

If your AirPods don't work the problem is not simply warranty cover. We can't change warranty but we can try to offer advice to get the pods working. All you need to do is start by explaining what you do, what you see and hear when you try to use the AirPods

You seem to be confusing two very different things:

The right to use the AirPods. If they’re your AirPods and were never associated with anyone else’s Apple ID, you should certainly be able to use them.
Not covered. This pertains to warranty coverage, which expires one year after the original purchase date.
