HELP. cannot connect two additional monitors simultaneously to new imac

i am trying to connect two additional monitors to my new imac. i am plugging into the two thunderbolt with thunderbolt to hdmi cords. i can connect with either port using either wire to either monitor so i know all components work. It will not recognize whichever one i connect after one is already connected.

Multiple Monitors to iMac (2023) via Thunderbolt I have tried connecting two monitors, one to each of my thunderbolt outputs on the iMac via an adapter to HDMI. How to connect 2 Apple monitors (thunderbolt) to Macbook air M2? My previous setup was 2015 Macbook Pro, connection is to one thunderbolt to (2015) dual Apple monitor using thunderbolt, and each Monitor daisy chain to each other. My new setup: Macbook air M2, with my (2015) dual Apple monitor. First try: Using a single USB C to thunderbolt adapter, only one monitor turns on, but no daisy chain. Second try: Using two USB C (Both port) to connect to monitor Individually, only one monitor turned on, and nothing on the second monitor. Any suggestion on how to connect them? is this a display driver issue? Thanks in advance.

If you are referring to the M1 iMac it only supports one external display.

"One external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz"

The new iMac's only supports one external display.
