My partner has lost his password for logging in to his apple account. We're unable to recover them as he no longer has access to the email account that was used to create his account. (Orangehome no longer
exists).
I've tried to set up a new id, I've read that he can have more than one id but the system will not
allow his date of birth to be entered. Any ideas anyone please?

Remember date of birth may be in a format you don't expect. USA uses mm/dd/yyyy where rest of world uses dd/mm/yyyy.
If you have access to a device (iPhone?) which is still logged in on the old Apple ID then you should be able to connect and change the password. Change your Apple ID password - Apple Support

Try setting up the Apple ID from another device by visiting here 👉 www.appleid.apple.com and then once the new Apple ID has been established, then you can sign into the iPhone using it.
