you can use the steps in Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support.
please proceed slowly and carefully. even one wrong keystroke can result in your being locked out of your account. and that is very difficult to recover from. and of course you should make a backup before trying this.

You are much better off, to avoid issues, create a new user account with admin privileges (or not)
and move your data over to the new account via File Sharing

Things can go sideways—
Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder
Test for weeks on end to verify every thing is as it should be before deleting the original account, or save it as a admin backup account. Recommended.
I’ve used the above-linked name-change procedure on various occasions, and it works correctly when followed.
You must use a second (admin) login to make this change, as is documented.
Have a complete and current backup, as you should always have available regardless, as backups are the only way to mark data as being valuable.
