You can choose from a few presets for auto shut off during idling.

Settings﹥General﹥Sleep after﹥

Set the delay before Apple TV automatically goes to sleep - Sleep or wake Apple TV - Apple Support

This applies to Apple TV (4th generation or later) (2015 or later models).
