Charging light changing from green to orange.

I bought a 2022 MacBook Pro M1. I have had it for about a month and have kept the charger plugged in, and it always maintained a green light and at 100% charge. Yesterday, the light turned orange and I noticed that the charge kept decreasing to around 82-84 % for no reason. Do I have a faulty charge cord or a bad battery? Thank you.

No, I would just observe how it goes over the next month or so and compare the results. The battery is covered under the hardware warranty.

The rule of thumb is if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.
