Quick Actions > Create PDF

It's one of my favourite features and I've used Quick Actions to create PDFs many times

However, today I'm getting this error

I've 'relaunched' Finder but that's not helped and a search hasn't produced remedy.

I have no idea why this function suddenly stopped working but really need it.

Hopefully, someone can help

Thanks in advance

The Create PDF Quick Action expects one to select more than one PDF or image in the Finder before choosing the Finder's secondary menu Quick Actions > Create PDF. Did you do that?

In Ventura 13.2.1, the Create PDF Quick Action works for me and uses the first selected object for the output PDF's base name which is found in the same location as the first selected object.

I just traded in my M1 mini for the M2 mini pro. I wasn't running Ventura on the older mini, just Big Sur, and had no issues with Create PDF. I am running Monterey on an M1 MacBook Pro and also on a 2020 Core i7 iMac and on no occasion do I have any issue with the Create PDF Quick Action results.

Yes, others have reported issues with Create PDF on Ventura, but I have had no issues.

One possibility is that you have selected too many files for the action to handle and it just croaks.

Appreciate you, thanks so much!

I wasn't aware of the Shortcuts application, so, that's a new discovery and will see if I can figure it out.

However, I do hope the Quick Actions gets fixed. It's somewhat of a relief to hear that others have also encountered this issue recently after the latest Ventura update. It's always annoying when an update breaks things; I do hope they fix it soon as that was super handy to do within Finder.

I'll dig into Shortcuts now

Thx, again.

Yes, I did.

I'll have any number of images in .png format usually, in a folder; cmd + a to select them all > right-click > Quick Actions > Create PDF

As I said, I've done this a lot and it became a favourite feature using macOS.

I didn't make the connection at first but it seems other people are experiencing similar issues since the latest Ventura update.

In theory, it should affect everyone that's upgraded to the latest version. If that's not the case, I would also like to know why that is and I can certainly understand why people who are not affected might think I must be doing something wrong, but, I don't think I am.

I'm on mac mini M1 if that is creating some conflict with Ventura, perhaps? ...just reaching; I have no idea.
