Notes App

Somehow I deleted my Notes app on my iPhone Friday. I loaded it again, but none of my previous notes were saved. I looked at my settings and the iCloud was not turned on. Can I still retrieve?

Hi C1t69sh,

Per Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch:

"When you delete a built-in app from your device, you also delete any related user data and configuration files. This can affect things like related system functions or information on your Apple Watch."

If iCloud Notes is not enabled currently, you may first try to enable that service to see if the Notes return from iCloud.

If your Notes were not synced with iCloud, the only opportunity to recover them would be if they were associated with one of your email accounts or contained in a recent backup.

Backups to a computer or iCloud would contain Notes not stored in iCloud, per Backup methods for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It would be necessary to restore your device to factory defaults (see Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings) and then during set up recover the data from a recent backup. If you're unsure what backups are available, see Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Regards.
