how to connect a pc to 2013 iMac and use as display
I connected my pc to my iMac (2013) using an HDMI to lightening cable and want to use it as a display but it won't recognize the PC.

Unfortunately, that setup is not and was never supported by Apple. The iMac cannot be used as a monitor for any pc and Target Display mode is no longer a feature of macOS, having been deprecated several years ago.

• Your target iMac (monitor) must be using macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 or earlier.
• In all cases the source Mac that you're connecting FROM must have been introduced in 2019 or earlier and have macOS 10.15 Catalina or earlier installed.

You can't.
I should mention, there is a piece of hardware available which may work for you called Luna Display. I can't tell you how well it works.
