Scanning documents to Macbook Pro

Since installing Ventura operating system, my Brother J5330DW multifunction printer/scanner/fax is not being detected in scan function. I delete the device, reinstall it and it works for one document and then ceases to work in scan. I can print from any application but scanning is not working. Any advice gratefully received!

And scanning does not work with Apple's ImageCapture or Preview applications?

Have you reset the print system to use Apple's built-in AirPrint which supports this multi-function Brother device, when networked, and without need for any Brother drivers? You would then use Apple's Image Capture for scanning.

Finally, try the VueScan Professional trial which supports the scanner component without any vendor drivers necessary.

That unit is AirPrint compatible according to this Apple document: About AirPrint - Apple Support

So go to System/Printers & Scanners settings are and remove the printer from the list. Then add it back using the AirPrint or Bonjour (WiFi) option. Then reboot the Mac and try to print.

If it still can't connect to your printer/scanner give VikingOSX's suggestion of VueScan a try. I use it and find it to be more versatile than the software that came with my scanner.
