Coverage expired on my iPhone 6s

Fix what problem?

The iPhone 6s was discontinued in 2018. It is long out of warranty an no longer covered by Apple Care.

If it needs repair or replacement you would have to pay for it.

You would be better served to just buy a new phone.

When AppleCare expires, Apple may or may not give you the option to proceed from there. That's is their call.
