Apple TV+ Subscription Sharing not Working on new Apple TV

My child has a new Apple TV in a different location from me. I have an annual Apple TV+ subscription which is shared with the entire family of four and all devices except for this new Apple TV recognize the subscription. They can view on other devices but when they try to watch on Apple TV it prompts for a new subscription.


We've reset the device and tried setup again

We've ensured that the login is using the correct Apple ID

We've logged out and logged back in

We've removed them from the family and added them back in


It is not the device but must be something with her account. I've reset one of my own Apple TVs to use her credentials and I have the same issue.


Is there anything about the Home that would cause issues?

What else can I try to resolve this?


Appreciate any ideas

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You've done some great troubleshooting prior to posting.


Subscriptions would be associated with the Apple ID, not the device.


If you've already reset/restored the Apple TV and a different Apple TV using the same Apple ID, which resulted in the same issue; then the issue is with the account and not the device.



If you continue to have this issue, then it would be best to contact Apple Support directly: Contact Apple Support They'll need to take it from here.
