As it is related to Apple Silicon computer

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Do not  attempt a Restart to access this feature. The computer Must be Shutdown and pause for about 10 seconds before moving forwards
  3. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
  4. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
  5. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Q - " Hi i was trying to update my MacBook Air M1 to ventura "

A - Exactly what Version of macOS is presently installed on this computer Now ?

If the computer is running a version older than say Monterey 12.6.3 or Big Sur 11.7.4 >>

Suggest you update the computer to the Latest Version of the Existing macOS Before attempting the upGRADING to Ventura

The computer may just work better in the upgrade process and all the Ventura upGrade to function as intended.

Added - How much Empty Space is available on this computer.

Lack of Empty Space may be a contributing factor

It is generally a good computer practice to alway keep at least 15% to 20% of the Total Drive Capacity’s as Empty Space.

Allowing the computer to drop below these guidelines may eventually, cause unintended consequences.
