I tried clicking the share icon as described here How to share routes using Apple Maps app ? - Apple Community (to my Mail app to check) and it creates a mail with the names of the start point and destination, but no route link.
What are we missing?
(also, how do i remove the "device" that's been selected below? This happens on macOS and iOS so not relevant... grrr, left it on AirTag but that's incorrect)

I see the same thing.
However, sharing directly to my iPhone works, as does sharing to Messages.
One workaround is to share to Messages, then copy and paste the URL into Mail.
It does seem to be a bug.

I reported it using feedback. Please do too. The squeaking wheel gets the grease :-)
Also the "topic" is incorrect - this is about Apple Maps on both macOS and iOS which is not available - why have they made these forums so unusable now!?
