Screen time not blocking Snapchat

I’ve set up screen time on my daughter’s phone and it does not block Snapchat. I have tried everything from the community posts (changing password, uninstalling app, restarting phones, block at down time, app limit on social apps, remove share across all devices). Nothing works. Help!

Hello,

I resolved the issue. The problem was that in the morning, I had approved the app "all day". Then, I could not revoke that approval. I uninstalled, reinstalled Snapchat, restarted both phones, turned off screen time, reset screen time, changed the screen time settings, but nothing worked. At midnight, the app was blocked again.

It seems like there should be a way to reset the permissions if this happens.

Thanks for your help.

Hey there Slane2010,

From the steps you've already taken, it sounds like you've done a lot of great troubleshooting already, and we'd like to help however we can. Based on the steps you've already tried, we'd like to rule out some other possible causes:

  1. We see you're using an iPhone 14 Plus, which is compatible with iOS 16.3.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad. We also recommend that your daughter also update her iPhone model to the latest version available for it using the same steps.
  2. Was there a time when Snapchat was blocked per the Screen Time settings you set, and if yes, when did this start to occur?
  3. If you do block other apps via Screen Time on her iPhone, do those apps have any issues?

Cheers!
