Hey archivist-historian__,

That's a great question! You should be able to use your Trackpad to select then drag through the messages you want to copy then paste them to the Mail app. You can also use the Shift key on your keyboard. The following guide has those steps in detail (even though it says for Pages, it will work in Messages too): Select text and place the insertion point in Pages on Mac - Apple Support

Select text

Do any of the following:

* Select one or more characters: Click in front of the first character and drag across the characters you want.
* Select a word: Double-click the word.
* Select a paragraph: Triple-click in the paragraph.
* Select a range of text: Click in front of the first character, then hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click at the end of the text you want to select. You can select just a few characters or a large amount of text across paragraphs or pages.
For more ways to select text, see Use keyboard shortcuts.

Just in case, here's a guide on copying and pasting text too: How to copy and paste on Mac - Apple Support
