Someone sent me an imessage, and it came through as a text. If I respond will they see my phone number?

Hi cucharina,
If you reply to a text message, also known as SMS, the other party will see your phone number or contact as they have your number stored in their device assuming they sent it to your phone number.
iMessages can be sent to your phone number or your Apple ID, and replies to those would be sent in the same manner.
