How to zoom out on iPhone 12?

I touched once the zoom in settings and boy did I have problems but that time some how I got my phone back but it sent out sos’s and emergency call. As soon as I got my phone back to normal I turned it off. Last night I was using my phone and tapped it a couple times and it went to zoom and I couldn’t get it off. I tried everything even getting a hold of Apple on my iPad and that was useless. So I had to let my iPhone go dead before it fixed the problem. Can anyone help me please this is my only means of communication. Thanks a head of time if you can or can’t just for reading this thank you Reta290.

Double-tap with three fingers.

If you don't need zoom then turn it off.

You did not say it was frozen, you said it was zoomed. For a frozen phone you do forced restart:

Press and quickly release VOLUME UP

then

Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN

then

Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears

The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.

If double tapping with 3 fingers did no unzoom you are not doing it correctly. It should always work.

You did not have to let the phone go dead. You could have just done a forced restart, as I described. That should be useful to remember for the future.

I tried that but iPhone would not respond it just stayed large. Plus I have turned it off after the first time so I don’t know why it did it the second time. Now I have gone in and shut everything down in that section. Thank you for suggest.

No it did not help iPhone froze and I had to let iPhone go dead to fix the problem. I had no phone for 14 hours and it is my only phone and with health issues it is scary relying on this phone now!!!!

It was in zoom it did it self and then it froze. I did try to shut down (not my first iPhone) and the screen was so big you couldn’t get to the slide off. Tired it twice and phone vibrates. That is why I had to let phone go dead. So if I didn’t explain properly.

Did try to try to force restart but all it did was vibrate and did nothing. If you are not careful on a forced restart you send out SOS!!!!
