How do I disable screen time requests in Messages?

All of a sudden the screen time requests from my children show up in group chats in iMessage instead of the notifications that used to come independently from Screen Time. The inclusion of the screen time requests clog up our actual group chats and make them useless.

How can I go back to having screen time requests have their own separate request notification and NOT appear in iMessage?

This change is a huge step backwards for usability.

Hi, the problem is that I don't want any screen time alerts showing up in Messages at all. They just clog up our normal thread of conversation.

I don't want to see this at all here. I only want the notifications coming to the Screen Time app (in settings) and nowhere else. My wife and I hate this new "feature" of it showing up in Messages.

Yes. That is helpful if you WANT to get alerts via messenger. The issue many of us have is that we DON’T want that. It’s a change from the previous method that worked better, and there’s no option to change it.

Having the requests come through as iMessages/txt is that the stay once approved and clutter the message feed/stream. Yes I can delete them, but it’s a pain to do it every single time.

Thanks for reaching out freeman.mc,

It sounds like you would prefer a notification instead of a message when you need to approve a Screen Time request. We can help.

This would be expected based on the information presented here: Set up Screen Time for a family member on iPhone:

If your child requests more screen time, you can approve or decline the request in Settings > Screen Time or in Messages.
