My Mac no longer lets me play my Apple Music

Every time I try to listen to Apple Music I get pop up saying - "Allow this computer to use Apple Music - This computer was previously used with a different Apple ID. To access your subscription, you will need to sync your library with this Apple ID. You will not be able to change to a different Apple ID for 90 days." below this are two buttons one for cancel the other for transfer. I have tried this but nothing happens - the computer has only ever been associated with my Apple ID - any ideas?

Transfer should reset the association with your Apple ID if needed. Try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music which opens it in safe mode, and can sometimes help with odd configuration issues. Failing that reach out to Official Apple Support.

Hello nellydee,

We understand you're having an issue with Apple Music playing on your Mac. We're here to help.

Have you tried restarting your Mac since this started happening? It is a simple step but it can correct most issues.

Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

Let's test this in safe mode, a step which may resolve the issue if it is related to the startup items, but if it does not, it will help us greatly isolate the cause. Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item, third party plugins, caches, fonts.

Once inside safe mode, log in to your account and check if the issue is also occurring or not. Use this article for the steps to get into safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

If everything is working properly in safe mode, but then is not working after you restart the Mac, please check the section titled "If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode" for the next troubleshooting steps.

If the issue is also happening in safe mode, you will need to see if this problem occurs in a new test administrator account on your Mac. A test user will let us know if the issue is isolated to your account, or system wide.

Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

If the issue is being experienced in the test user also, then please check the section titled "If the issue happens in the other account".
