I have entries in the keychain for web form passwords going back to 2006. I just reset my password at makemusic.com and it generated another keychain item. I would like to delete the older ones so I don't get confused the next time I want to login. I can select the items in question, but when I right-click delete or use the edit menu delete it does nothing. The item remains in the keychain. How do I go about getting rid of these?

What are all of these entries in my keychains? hi, I bought a Macbook Air last winter and haven't used it much (preferring my old MBP from 2009). I see now when I started it up in January it created 2 new keychains "Login" and "Local" that have 100s of keychain entries I didn't make and didn't import from my old Mac. I do not use iCloud and have everything iCloud related turned off/disabled for every setting I could find (although somehow it seems to be sucking up my keyboard preferences from my iphone and pushing it to this Macbook Air!) Here's a sample of the type of things I've found in the keychains. What are these? Can I delete these? Why aren't these going into a "System" keychain like on my old Mac for things like networks etc.? Unless you are having an issue with your Keychain, you shouldn't have to remove items stored in it. However, you are certainly free to delete any item as you deem necessary. This particular item may have been the result of an invalid entry being stored.
