Apps Accessible during Downtime

When in Downtime mode, I have removed all Apps from being accessible during this mode; however, there are two issues:

  1. Not all Apps are locked, i.e. Notes, Files, Safari, Clock, Fitness and perhaps others I’m forgetting, are still accessible.
  2. Even the Apps which appear to be locked, grayed out, can be accessed by overriding their time limit.

What is going on here? Has anyone else noticed this or is my phone not working properly?

Hey Cachibache,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. In the Screen Time settings for downtime, make sure there are no apps listed in the allowed list. To check you'll tap Settings > Screen Time > Always Allowed. Here's more information on using Screen Time, just in case: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Let us know what you find.

Take care!

Hi Tammy,

I have indeed removed ALL Apps from the “Always Accesible” list, as mentioned on my post. There are zero Apps listed, yet the five or six Apps I mentioned still come up as accessible.

Again, as mentioned on my post, even those Apps which appear as “grey’d out”, can be accessed by overriding the time limit.

If you ask me, this downtime doesn’t work as advertised by Apple. There are countless other iPhone users which corroborate my sentiment.

Please ask Apple to fix this.
