As you can read here MacBook Pro 13-inch - Technical Specifications - Apple (UK) same the most recent Mac have usb-c port 4 or 3.1 but even if you have a device with 3.2 this device will use usb 3.1 and it won't be a problem.

I know that the bus speed on the M1 MBP is USB 3.1 @10 GBPS. Does the M2 have USB 3.2 yet with 20 GB speeds?
Thank you, so if you want faster speeds, you need Thunderbolt drives, not the faster nvme drives with usb 3.2? No Mac support for those drives at those speeds correct?
