apple making good devices obsolete.... Series 8 watch doesn't work with iphone 7plus 256gb...

why do people accept Apple making working devices obsolete? I have a Iphone 7 Plus with 256GB that works fine, yet i cannot use it with the iwatch series 8 that I just purchased... back to the store to return.

The iPhone 7+ was released by Apple 6½ years ago.

Indeed the Apple Watch 8 requires iOS 16 or later, which means the iPhone 7+ cannot pair to it.

Technology moves forward. It will continue to move forward. Complaining about a nearly 7 year old device not being compatible with a new Apple Watch is silly, to be honest. I accepted long ago that devices will one day become obsolete. And that's never going to change. What's remarkable is you have a nearly 7 year old iPhone, which still works. You won't find many people with a nearly 7 year old Samsung phone still in service.
