Is there a way to get a list of the albums a photo has been added to? For instance, I have a photo of my wife snorkeling while on vacation in Key West. I might add that photo to an album dedicated to the Key West vacation, an album of the hobby of snorkeling, and an album of photos of my wife. I would like to be able to select that image in the camera roll and get a list of those albums.
You would need to run an AppleScript to search for the photo in all albums.Here is an example of such a script:
I am mostly using smart albums based on keywords - instead of adding a photo to an album I adding a keyword to an album. Then I I can see in the Infor for a photo, which smart albums I have added to.

I think your method of using keywords and smart albums is great, and I wish I had thought of organizing my photos that way. But my Photos library contains more than 25,000 images & videos, and the task of key-wording that heap of pics seems just too daunting.
