Will an assurance wireless SIM card work on iPhone 14
Will an assurance wireless SIM card work on iPhone 14
Based on what is posted at the carrier website:
…Only phones acquired from Assurance Wireless are considered compatible.
…Bring-your-own-phone is not permitted.
…Eligible applicants will receive an Android phone at no cost.
If you have questions about any of this, please contact the carrier.
Years ago. I purchased an Apple 7+ Iphone from Assurance for something like $250 or $275. About 2 years back when Assurance switched to Tmobile. I was told the Iphone would no longer worked. I complained, saying I had recently bought the Iphone 7. A few days later a got a refurbished like new I phone X.. (I think Iphones were at version 12 or 13) for free.
Calling and asking them is troublesome. Some agents tell you Iphones, can't be used. Other places show hacks to get it to work. Their Iphone supple is somewhat spotty, because they get refurbished phones in weekly batches.
The problem with the internet now, is you never really know the validity of the information on it. If it's some one who'l tested and proved the info, or just some speculating.. or just troublemakers who like to mess things up.
If this is so complicated with Assurance I stand by my previous answer: Consider a different service provider.
Can't believe its this complex to have iPhones work on Assurance more so when they use T-Mobile's network.

Hard to believe there's any fundamental technical difference between XR, 11, SE and other models that makes these work but not others. Assurrance is clearly BSing people.
They may be denying activation of other models, but that's probably a bureaucratic choice they are making, not a technical limitation.
@lobsterghost1 they have no info which is why I’m asking btw 🙄
Assuming they are standard SIM cards, no reason to think they won't work. I'm surprised Assurance can't answer that question.
Have they never used their service on an iPhone? I would expect them to at least have tested them once.
If the servicer provider can't tell you what devices their service works on, perhaps its time to consider a different service provider.

We are just users here on this user to user only forum. Unless some user just happens to use them, you'll be waiting a long time for a response and even then it may not be accurate.
Apple sells phones. Carriers provide service to them. You have some very specific questions about which model iPhones work with Assurance wireless SIM Cards. If you need information about Assurance, you should reach out to them directly.

Assurance Wireless provides a government-subsidized (and variously free) cellular communications service for those eligible.
This bring-your-own-device prohibition quite possibly including not wanting the costs of supporting other phone models, around meeting any purchase volume discounts negotiated with the phone hardware vendors, around requiring stocking of fewer parts, and potentially also around providing a means of metadata collection.
That an often-free carrier has certain provisions and certain restrictions is to be expected.
There are many other carriers available.
From their Wbsite: "Use the phone you love with your Assurance Wireless service!
We make it easy to connect a phone you already own to Assurance Wireless. If your phone is compatible – and most are – and unlocked, we’ll provide you with a FREE Assurance Wireless SIM Card so your service can be activated on a phone you already have.
Bring Your Own Phone is available to existing customers and customers who qualify with a member of our street team. Bring Your Own Phone is not yet available to customers who qualify online."
Assurance wireless
You should contact Assurance and ask them.
They do not. XR, 11 and SE are only compatible iPhones I believe. I had the same issue and had to try it out using my phones IMEI. Didn’t work
Good info.
This thread is older, and the BYOD policy has clearly changed.
BYOD wasn’t an option back in November, per archived copies of the website
