To update your iPhone, select Settings > General > Software Update. If your phone is eligible for an update, you will be prompted to do so. You identified your iPhone model as “Earlier iPhone Models.” This tells me your phone may not be eligible for an update. You can check the highest iOS version for your iPhone in the chart below:
