Glyph anyone? Advice please.

I’m using a MacStudio M1 Ultra, 128GB, 2TB. I’m editing mainly BRAW, RED and H.265. I need reliability and speed (smooth timeline/playback etc).

I'm in UK.

has anyone had any experience in using these with a Mac Studio m1 ultra? need some buying advice - I’m looking at the 8 TB version:

Mac mini M2 pro poor performance I am about 5 months into using my Mac mini M2 16gigs of ram and I am finding it underwhelming. Barely handles even simple video editing tasks without lag. I have been using Macs for 30 years and something is just not right with these M2 chips and editing video or maybe it is the way they interact with Adobe products? Maybe I should have gotten 32 gigs of RAM? Not sure. I used the rotobrush in AE on a 1080 clip, which I know is a resource heavy task, but even with nothing else open, not even a browser, it was unable to process the clip. Photography is great, Lightroom is fast and stable. Video slow buggy and crashes.

SSD's and video editing (FCP X) re: Final Cut Pro X on a Macbook Air M1 and/or M2: Building a small, little system -- Any recommendations for SSD's as scatch discs for 4K video editing? Looking at Crucial X6 4TB Portable SSD – Up to 800MB/s – USB 3.2 as a candidate for outboard video-clip drive(s). I understand this particular drive is great for simple file transfer and video storage but I need to know if these latter day SSD's are capable of on-line, non-linear, up to 4K, with, very little rendering, non-commercial editing projects? Not much in visual effects/graphics... straight forward interview audio (no effects). Shorthand? Nothing special... Being away from the game for nearly 10 years is really showing... Ouch! Brand New MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max Slow Performance I am super frustrated. I have been trying to get my new Mac up and running. It is a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max with 64 GB of memory and a 2TB SSD. I am using it almost solely for FCPX. I initially set it up from a Time Machine backup from my mid-2017 MacBook Pro Intel i7 that I have been using, and was shocked at how slow it was so I have gone back, wiped the drive, and reinstalled Monterey and started from scratch. I downloaded a fresh version of all of the apps and plugs I am running, mostly Universal Audio and Pixel Film Studios. All of them are M1 compatible. I formatted my external hard drive (Samsung T7 1GB) and put together a new library with some quick test footage. The first thing I noticed is how much slower the background rendering was than with my 2017 Intel machine, so then I turned off background rendering and now I am dropping clips. Also, I have verified that FCPX has full disk access and also set the battery/energy mod to "high power". This thing should be blazing fast. I literally only have 1 clip in the test project, and an adjustment layer with a couple of LUTs on it. This is the most powerful MAcBook you can spec from them. Something doesn't add up??? Anyone else running into this sort of issue? I would be grateful for any help.
