My iPhone setting keeps showing a message that my iPhone cannot be backed up due to not enough iCloud storage, so why do I have 2 GB of storage and only 2% is used

iPhone says I don’t have enough backup storage to iCloud and my phone cannot be backed up yet. I have 2 GB of storage that I paid extra for. How do I fix this problem?

Hi RzNHlakes,

It sounds like you need help with your iPhone backup and we can help with the steps we've posted below.

You'll want to see how large your next iPhone backup is going to be:

If an alert says that there's not enough iCloud storage
1. In iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings > [your name].
2. Tap iCloud. At the top, you can check how much iCloud storage you've used.
3. Tap Manage Account Storage or Manage Storage.
4. Tap Backups, then tap the device you're using. Under Last Backup and Backup Size, you can check Next Backup Size. It may take a few minutes for your device to calculate Next Backup Size.
5. If your backup needs more space than the amount you have available in iCloud, you can:
* Delete information that you don't need to reduce the size of your backup
* Upgrade your iCloud+ plan to get more space

If you can't back up to iCloud

If your backup exceeds the size of your iCloud+ plan, you'll need to expand it further. The steps above should help you find the cause of your issue.

Let us know what you find and which storage plan you have and we'll help from there.
