Hi there moenorm,

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

We understand you can't find deleted emails. We can help.

Do you have the Mail app set to permanently delete mail when you trash it for this account?

  1. "In the Mail app  on your Mac, choose Mail > Settings, then click Accounts.
  2. Select an account, click Mailbox Behaviors, then check the setting for the Trash Mailbox option.
  • If None is specified: Deleted messages are removed and aren’t available in the Trash mailbox."

If that's not the case, might you have archived the email message instead? It would be in the Archive mailbox then. See: Archive emails in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

If the mail is still missing, we recommend you contact Apple Support for continued assistance: Contact Apple Support

Take care.
