Apple Watch Series 8 - standing minutes not recognized

My Apple Watch (Series 8) doesn’t pick up my standing minutes. I can literally be standing (up and moving) for 50 minutes of an hour and STILL get the notification that “you can make it”. Any thoughts?

The Stand ring shows hours in which you've stood and moved for at least a minute. Complete your daily Stand goal by standing up and moving around for at least 1 minute during 12 different hours in the day. Even if you stand all day, you still need to move around to earn credit for standing. The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
