Longest move streak “reset”

Why did my longest move streak change from 1620 to 37 overnight?

Should not have happened.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

This has just happened to me today, I'm slightly obsessed with closing my rings and just checked now. My Activity says: You earnt this award for your longest daily Move streak 35 days, ending on 1/8/2023. Your current streak is 1,208 days.

Side note: how do you all keep your streak if you travel over the international date line? TIA

My move streak was over 1400. Today it dropped to 38. I tried the steps suggested. Soft reboot of my watch and iPhone. No luck. Then I reset and erased my watch and then paired it with my phone and used the backup created through the process. Still no luck so I repeated the soft reboot of both devices. Not only did it not fix the problem, but it went backwards. Before these steps I at least still had my 1250 closed ring streak. Now all I have is 38. I recently had to restore my phone from a backup but it did not impact the move streak on my watch. Any suggestions?
