Migration assistant can’t connect old and new MacBook pros. Firewalls off, on same wifi network.

Migration Assistant Not Working So, this is a new one. Migration Assistant isn't working between the brand new Macbook Pro running MacOs Monterey (12.0) and the laptop I'm retiring, a mid-2015 15" Macbook running MacOS Big Sur. They are both on the same network, both have the firewalls turned off, but I keep getting a "can't connect, turn off firewall" message. It's a loop of frustration and failure.

Migration Assistant Not Working Have just a new macbook air and trying to use the migration assistant to transfer wirelessly over from my 4 year old imac. Both macbook and the imac have their firewalls turned off but they seem to can't find each other on the same wifi network. The imac briefly appeared once on the macbook however once I clicked continue there were errors. Macbook is running the latest OS while Imac is on an older version (3-4 versions old) thought security updates are the latest. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Migration Assisant Unable to Connect I am trying to use Migration Assistant to move my information from my old Mac (2016 MacBook Pro) to my new one (2020 Macbook Pro). Both have the latest system updates, are connected to the same WiFi and both firewalls are off. However, my new Mac keeps bringing up a message saying that it is unable to connect. I have tried restarting both Macs but nothing seems to be working

so sorry to hear that.

If you would like some help from the community, you will need to post the details of each Mac (model-year screen size processor speed) and each MacOS in excruciating detail, and verify that each computer can connect to the Internet by itself.
