mismatched airpods

was given a new airpods case at Apple Store yesterday and it won’t connect to my phone

airpods pro 1st gen All of a sudden my airpods wouldn’t connect to my phone (iphone 13). I took them out of my silicone case to look at the light and no matter what i did, it wouldn’t turn on unless it was on the charger, and even then the only light it would show was green. I decided to forget the device from my phone so i could reset them, but now when i press the button to reconnect them, nothing happens - no light, nothing. Do i need to get a completely new case or is there something i can do?

Set up your replacement AirPods or charging case - Apple Support
